Meet Shannon
Shannon Quigley
Dance Teacher
Shannon Quigley graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and Dance. Throughout her time at WKU, she was accepted into and completed the Joffrey Ballet Dallas program, performed at Marlins Park for the Miami Beach Bowl, and expanded her knowledge through intensives with the American College Dance Association. Shannon served in the WKU National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) chapter and committed to 3 years competing at National Dance Alliance with WKU while teaching at local studios.
Along with a passion for the performing arts, Shannon has always made it a priority to promote diversity and inclusion. As early as middle school, Shannon enjoyed volunteering to help students in Special Education classes. The connection she had with the students was one of a kind and watching them hit milestones was one of the most rewarding experiences. While at WKU, Shannon volunteered with the Best Buddies organization where she met many friends with disabilities. One of Shannon’s greatest accomplishments was being able to bring together NDEO and Best Buddies for a “Dance Day” - an event still held today. Watching the two organizations come together to dance, laugh, and build friendships, Shannon knew she had to find this type of environment in Nashville.
After moving to Nashville in 2018, Shannon found out about MOVE. Once she met Lauren for coffee to hear more about the mission, it was a no-brainer that she had to be a part of this organization! Though her day to day is spent in the office working for a commercial real estate developer, Shannon strives to bring dance to those with disabilities and commits to creating an inclusive environment everywhere she goes.
