Meet Maddy
Maddy Licocci
Dance Teacher
“My brother has been a big inspiration for my career. My older brother Vinnie grew up receiving special education services. I saw firsthand the difficulty of public school districts, the legality issues with IEPs, and (at times) the lack of teachers willing to advocate for their students & their families. I chose to go into special education to try to change this for my students & families.” Maddy graduated from the University of Missouri in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Special Education. She then graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2021 with a master's in Special Education as well as a Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (BCBA). Since graduation, Maddy has served as an exceptional education teacher in a Metro Schools High School. She considers it a great honor to be an exceptional education teacher and work with students from 14-22 years old.
“I spent all of my free time growing up in my hometown dance studio in Libertyville, IL. Dance has been a true passion my entire life and gave me a beautiful way to express myself and forget about the stress of everyday life. I learned not only how to be a dancer but how to be a friend, a learner, how to be disciplined, how to have fun, and how to be my most authentic self. This is why I want to teach dance classes, so my students can learn all of these things and embrace exactly who they are!”
